Stock Level Report
The Stock Level Report from ERPNext provides a view of the number of stock items that are available in specific warehouses. Effective inventory planning and control are facilitated by the report's ability to help users rapidly assess stock availability by location.
ERPNext offers several reports for monitoring stock levels. The Stock Projected Quantity Report is among the most thorough of these.
Stock Projected Quantity Report
Taking into account all current and upcoming stock transactions, this report displays stock quantities by item and warehouse. Along with the actual quantity on hand, it also shows other important quantities that affect inventory planning:
Actual Quantity: The amount that is physically present in the warehouse.
Planned Qty: The planned quantity is the amount that has not yet been produced from the open work order.
Requested Quantity: A quantity that has not yet been ordered but was ordered through material requests.
Ordered Quantity: The quantity has been ordered from suppliers but has not yet been delivered.
Reserved Quantity: A quantity that has been committed to sales orders but has not yet been shipped.
Projected Qty: The estimated future stock, calculated as: Projected Qty = Actual Qty + Planned Qty + Requested Qty + Ordered Qty - Reserved Qty
The planning engine uses the Projected Quantity to monitor:
Reorder points
Safety stock levels
Potential stock shortages
Businesses can use it to manage replenishment, predict future demand, and avoid stockouts or overstocking. Making wise decisions about production and procurement requires accurate projected inventory.
