Installation Note

It is used to record the details of an item's installation or commissioning at the customer's location after it has been delivered.

For example, a technician may come to the customer's place to install one of your sold air conditioners. That technician can record an Installation Note to record the date of installation, technician details, and serial numbers (if applicable).

Select Home > Stock > Batch and Serial Number > Installation.

1. How to create an Installation Note

An installation note is typically made from a delivery note. However, you can also create one manually and retrieve data by clicking the "From Delivery Note" button.

  1. Go to Installation Note list and click on New.

  2. In the event that a delivery note is utilised, the system will automatically obtain:

    • Customer

    • The item or items

    • Quantity

  3. The installation time and date are automatically set based on the current time, but you can modify them if needed.

  4. You can include installation remarks in the "Additional Notes" section.

  5. If the item is serialised, enter or select the relevant serial numbers in the Items table.

  6. Click Save, then send in the installation note.

Additional Notes:

  • If the item calls for a serial number, you will need to select the correct one during installation.

  • You can still manually enter the serial numbers or use the selector to monitor installation activity even though ERPNext uses the Serial and Batch Bundle.
