Manufacturing Reports

ERPNext v15 in the Manufacturing module provides a host of reports to know about the production progress, efficiency analysis, BOM tracking of usage and information about the operating process. The reports are dispensed as tabular data and visually in form of configurable charts by use of visual dashboards.

Access Path:

Home > Manufacturing > Reports

To facilitate graphical display, click the "Set Chart" button in the top-right of the report page. This lets you set up bar, line, pie, or donut charts for fast insights.

Open Work Orders

This report shows a list of all Work Orders in the "Not Started" status. It assists production managers and planners in identifying future manufacturing tasks yet to be started.

Manufacturing Reports

Key Data Columns:

  • Work Order Number
  • Item to Manufacture
  • Planned Start Date
  • Quantity to Produce
  • Status
  • Production Plan Reference
  • WIP and Finished Goods Warehouses

Use Case: Effective when planning material allocation, workstation availability scheduling, and preventing late execution of manufacturing operations.

Work in Progress Report

The WIP Report displays all Work Orders which are in the current "In Process" status — production has started, yet is not finished.

Manufacturing Reports

Key Data Columns:

  • Work Order Number
  • Item Code and Description
  • Actual Start Date
  • Quantity Produced
  • Balance Quantity
  • Assigned Workstations
  • Completion Percentage
  • Linked Job Cards and their statuses

Use Case: Tracks the live progress of manufacturing, tracks operational delays, and flags bottlenecks at a given stage or workstation.

Issued Items Against Work Order

This report lists the raw materials which have been issued (by Material Transfer for Manufacture) to Work in Progress (WIP) Warehouses against each Work Order.

Manufacturing Reports

Data columns listed below that are most useful to understand your data

Work Order Number Product code (Raw material) * Transferred Quantity * Required Quantity * WIP Warehouse * Transfer Date * Reference Stock Entry

Use Case: Helps in tracking of material and releases raw materials at the right time and in the right quantity. Eliminates the risk of shortage, controls over-issuance and streamlines the inventory flow.

Completed Work Orders

This report enumerates all Work Orders wherein the whole planned quantity of finished goods has been successfully produced and submitted.

Manufacturing Reports

Key Data Shown:

  • Work Order Number
  • Item to Produce
  • Planned Quantity vs Produced Quantity
  • Actual Start and End Dates
  • Production Plan Reference (if any)
  • Status = "Completed"
  • Linked Job Cards and Material Consumption Entries

Use Case: The report plays a critical role in tracking the completed production activity and ensuring process efficiency as well as initiating post-production operations including stock valuation, quality check, and shipment.

Production Analytics

This report gives top-level aggregated views of all active and finished Work Orders within specified ranges.

Manufacturing Reports

Key Metrics Shown:

  • Total Work Orders
  • Total Quantity Produced
  • Total Raw Material Used
  • Average Lead Time
  • Operation Efficiency
  • Status Distribution (Not Started / In Progress / Completed / Stopped)

Use Case: Enables monitoring of performances, planning of production decisions and identification of inefficiencies during the manufacturing processes.

This report enables searching across all current Bills of Materials (BOMs) by Raw Material Item Codes.

Manufacturing Reports

Key Functionalities:

  • Enter one or more Raw Material Item Codes
  • Lists all BOMs that utilize them
  • Direct links to open matched BOMs
  • Narrow by filters by item group, company, or active status

Use Case: Extremely beneficial in environments with high or complex BOMs, where knowing where a raw material is utilized is key to design modifications or component replacement.

BOM Stock Report

Shows the availability of stock for a chosen Bill of Materials (BOM) across company Warehouses.

Manufacturing Reports

Key Data Shown:

  • Raw Material Items
  • Required Quantity according to BOM
  • Available Quantity in chosen Warehouse(s)
  • Color Indicators:

    • Red: Not enough stock
    • Green: Enough stock

Use Case: Aids in deciding material readiness prior to issuing a Work Order. Aids in procurement planning by indicating material shortages in advance.
