Quality Management System
Version 12 Introduction
ERPNext Quality management continues to focus on sustaining excellence from procurement right through production by incorporating cutting-edge features such as real-time capture, automated inspection improvement, and improved traceability, all well integrated into operational processes.
Quality Checks
ERPNext also features fully customizable Quality Inspection Plans, where you can specify numeric, non-numeric, and formula-based quality parameters, apply them to incoming, outgoing, and in-process inspections, and enforce checks through the use of automated acceptance criteria logic. These can be launched directly from stock receipts, delivery notes, or job cards, and auto-reject readings that are outside certain boundaries.
Inspection Templates
You may set Inspection Templates with parameters that have already been decided upon--value ranges, example-based conditions, or calculations--that will facilitate the automation of the inspections. The inspection processes can be fast and precise because they may be correlated with the goods and be auto-filled with templates.
Non-Conformance Management
ERPNext's Non-Conformance Management goes beyond simple tracking. It entails defect logging with extensive categorization, attachment of images, organized Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) workflows, root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone), and proper Non-Conformance Reports linked to resolution tracking—all of which add up to more compliance and constant improvement.
Batch Tracking
Improved Batch and Serial Traceability now involves enhanced selectors for serial number and batch bundling and handling, less manual effort, and greater precision. Complete end-to-end traceability ensures regulatory compliance and issue identification at a faster pace.
Supplier Quality Management
Supplier interactions are more closely integrated within ERPNext's quality framework: you can establish Supplier Inspection Criteria for incoming materials, automate rejection of non-conforming components, track supplier performance dashboards, and integrate quality results into supplier scorecards within the procurement workflow itself.
Reporting and Analytics
ERPNext now includes powerful Quality Reporting and Analytics capabilities: create dashboards and reports that include defect rates, inspection yields, CAPA status, supplier quality trends, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and audit trail data—facilitating deeper insights, trend analysis, and data-driven corrective planning.
