Project Reports
In the Projects module, ERPNext has reports in a series that assist in monitoring progress, time and cost of each project. The reports were improved in version v15 to provide more advanced filters and increased transparency to project activity.
1. Project Billing Summary
The report is designed to provide a comprehensive summary of billable activity by Project and Employee within a specified time frame. It displays information from only Timesheets that are marked as billable by checking the "Bill" checkbox.
The report shows Project Name, employee, hours worked, bill rate and amount billed. Limits on results by Project, Employee, and Date Range are supported by filters allowing specific dates to be targeted such as monthly or quarterly billing periods.
You can also group entries by Territory or Cost Center, introduced in ERPNext v15, for dealing with projects of different regions and cost management. Helpful for finance teams, project managers, and customers to track revenue based on services.
2. Daily Timesheet Summary
Report gives the daily summary of Timesheets submitted by users for a specific project or date range. Every table row of the report is for a Timesheet entry, and details such as Date, Employee, Project, Activity Type, Billing Hours, Costing Rate, and Remarks. Filters are Date Range, Employee, and Project to restrict the view by time ranges or individuals.
It's especially helpful for project managers and HR to monitor time entered in comparison to expectations. Helps to track employee compliance with time entry and monitor effort consumed against tasks.
3. Project Wise Stock Tracking
The report provides a comprehensive view of stock transactions related to each project, and cost effect involved. Tracks usage of inventory such as Stock Issue, Material Transfer, and Subcontracted Entries per project.
Columns are Item Code, Quantity Moved, Transaction Type, Warehouse, Valuation Rate, and Total Costing Amount. Filters allow searching by Project Name, Customer, Start/End Date, and Item, so the most important activities are more easily segregated.
In ERPNext v15, the report also has filters for Batch Number, Serial Number, and Warehouse Type, so it is now possible to drill down into serialized and batched use of stock. Perfect for cost auditing, forecasting inventories, and checking actual intake against estimated usage per project.
All such reports in ERPNext v15 enable more precise and comprehensive monitoring of project expenses, labor, and materials, and are a must-have for managers and finance teams.
