Employee Skill Map

Employee Skill Map

The Employee Skill Map is an official document that helps businesses maintain track of their employees' training, skills, and talents. It helps HR departments and managers look at an employee's skills in a methodical way, making it easy to see the workforce's strengths and weaknesses for planning and growth.

  • You may use the Skill Map to keep track of each Employee's abilities and progress after each training session, workshop, or certification they get, even if it's not work-related.

  • This information is very important for performance reviews, career development talks, and succession planning because it shows skill and advancement in an unbiased way.

To make an Employee Skill Map, go to: You may find the Employee Skill Map by going to Home > Human Resources > Employee Lifecycle.
  • Make sure the system already has the Skills needed for Designations set up under the Skill Doctype before you make an Employee's skill map. This makes sure that the right set of skills automatically shows up for evaluation when an employee is given a designation. This saves time and makes the process more consistent.

1. How to make a skills map for employees

  • To start making a new record, click on New in the Employee Skill Map list.

  • Choose the employee for whom you wish to make the skill map.

  • The Skill Doctype will automatically give the system the skills that are related to the Employee's Designation.

  • Fill in the Evaluation Date to show when the evaluation took place, and set the Proficiency Level (on a scale of 5) for each skill to show how good the Employee is at it right now.

  • If the Employee needs to practise a skill or is missing from one, you may set up training sessions for them right from the same page.

  • Choose the right Training Event from the Trainings table and change the Training Date so that the Employee can sign up for it.

  • Save the document after you've input all the information so that you have a full record of the Employee's existing and developing skills.

  • This method makes sure that each skill evaluation and training enrolment is linked to the Employee, making a record that may be used in the future.

Using the Employee Skill Map

HR can keep track of how a worker's skills have improved over time by giving the same worker the same test over and over again. This ongoing record can show who the best workers are, what training they need, and how to make sure that staff development plans are in line with the goals of the company.
