Compensatory Leave Request
Compensatory Leave Request:
Compensatory Leave is a type of leave that an employee receives as a form of reward for working extra hours or on statutory holidays. It is normally viewed as time off in lieu.
Employees can use the Compensatory Leave Request form to correctly request Compensatory Leaves via Frappe HR.
for these requests to be considered valid, the dates of work should be on days that fall on the Employee's default Holiday List, and the Employee should be marked as Present for those dates.
This ensures that only actual extra workdays are accounted for pay
Only Leave Types marked as "Is Compensatory" in their configurations can be selected when requesting a Compensatory Leave. This configuration ensures that compensating leaves are differentiated from regular leaves.
1. Requirements
Before submitting a Compensatory Leave Request, ensure the following records are already established and current:
Employee: The Employee record should be present in the system and contain all the details it requires, such as the Department, Holiday List, and Employee ID.
Leave Period: There should be an established Leave Period to ensure that leaves are allocated and checked correctly.
Leave Type: You must create the specific Leave Type and mark it as "Is Compensatory"
Leave Policy: There must be policies regarding how to offer, rollover, or allow compensatory leaves to lapse.
Leave Allocation: Existing leave allocations should be configured so that approved compensatory leaves can be transferred to the Employee's balance.
Holiday List: The Employee must receive a complete Holiday List so that they can check whether the days they worked were actual holidays.
Attendance: The attendance of the employee must be marked as present for the holiday dates worked in order to indicate that they are entitled for compensatory leave.
2. How to submit a request for compensatory leave
Select New from the list of Compensatory Leave Requests.
Select the Employee ID.
The Department and Employee Name will be automatically retrieved from the Employee record when you select them.
Select the correct Leave Type (only leave types that indicate "Is Compensatory" will appear).
Select the Work From Date and Work End Date. These are the date or date range when the Employee worked on an official holiday.
Please include a specific and valid reason for the request, like "Worked on preparing for the National Day event" or "System maintenance on the weekend."
Save the document and send it in.
Once you submit it, ERPNext will update the Employee's Leave Allocation record according to the type of compensatory leave you have selected. This will enable the Employee to avail the newly credited leave days in subsequent Leave Applications, provided they still have leave remaining.
